“He gave…pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the son of God…” (Ephesians 4:11-13)
Immanuel Church has a variety of ministries and activities with a purpose of encouraging the men and women in their faith, maturity and unity.
Theology Group
“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:9-11)
In this text, Paul identifies a clear link between doctrine and life, or beliefs and behavior. The knowledge of God is the rich soil out of which godliness grows. In light of this, the purpose of the theology group is to engage God’s word on a deeper level so that we might become more faithful servants and worshipers of our Savior and King. Currently, the group is working through A Case for Amillennialism: Understanding the End Times by Kim Riddlebarger. Location: Church Fellowship Hall Time: 7-8:30pm on the 1st Thursday of the month

These groups are open to families and are designed to encourage fellowship between members and spiritual growth. As the locations sometimes vary, please contact the church for more information. The dates and times of the homegroups are currently:

Men
Monthly Men’s Breakfast – Every 3rd Saturday Morning of the month from 9:00-10:30 AM the men meet together at the church for breakfast, a devotional and prayer.
Women
Ladies Bible Study – The Immanuel Ladies Bible Study meets every month on the second Saturday morning, from 9 to 11 am. The intent of our meetings is to nurture godly friendships, grow in love and obedience to our Lord, and pray for each other. Younger ladies (including preteens) and older women are welcome, as we seek to foster relationships between generations of women who desire to walk with God. Our study for 2023 is on the book of James. For more information contact Jodi Clark at [email protected].
We also host a social gathering on the 5th Fridays of the month. Themes have included gardening and plant swaps, favorite movie recommendations, a tea party, dining out and more. You’re invited to join us in this time of food and fellowship so please reach out to Jodi if you have questions.
