Married Couples Fellowship
When: Semi-annual events that will be announced in our bulletin and on our Facebook Page
Where: Generally hosted in the Fellowship Hall of our church building.
What Is It Like? These are special times of fellowship, fun, and mentorship as married couples in our church from all different stages of life join together to learn from one another. Generally, events include a special event or speaker over a meal.
Other Adult Ministries
“He gave…pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the son of God…” (Ephesians 4:11-13)
Immanuel Church has a variety of ministries and activities with a purpose of encouraging the men and women in their faith, maturity and unity.
Men
Monthly Men’s Breakfast – Every 3rd Saturday Morning of the month from 9 AM to approximately 10:20 AM the men meet together at the church for breakfast, a devotional and prayer.
The Annual Men’s Retreat is held every April. Men from Immanuel and many other churches come together for a weekend men’s retreat at a local retreat center. There is a speaker, and numerous activities – usually tournaments including fishing, skeet shooting, softball and horseshoes. The men return to their families and churches Sunday morning.
Women
Ladies Bible Study – The Immanuel Ladies Bible Study meets every month on the second Saturday morning, from 9 to 11 am in the church Fellowship Hall. The intent of our meetings is to nurture godly friendships, grow in love and obedience to our Lord, and pray for each other. Younger ladies (including preteens) and older women are welcome, as we seek to foster relationships between generations of women who desire to walk with God.
Our study for the coming year is focused on finding hope in the Psalms, when we experience the emotions of grief, worry, or fear. The book we’re using for discussion is A Heart Set Free by Christina Fox.

The Annual Women’s Retreat also draws ladies from Orthodox Presbyterian and other churches of like faith and practice all over Jersey and surrounding states. The ladies typically meet at the America’s Keswick Retreat Center in Whiting, New Jersey for the weekend. The Women’s Retreat is held in early November, and has a speaker and numerous activities.
We are particularly committed to the biblical conviction that the greatest means of grace for the men and women of Immanuel, beside the word of God and the sacraments and prayer, will be found in the body of Christ. It is in the context of the body that God encourages, counsels, heals and introduces us to wisdom.
