Beliefs

We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the infallible and inerrant word of God.

We believe in and worship the one living and triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever, the maker of heaven and earth.

We believe that God created mankind, male and female, morally upright and in His image. As a result of sin and rebellion against God, however, mankind has fallen from this upright condition and the image of God has been severely marred in him. We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

We believe that Jesus is the eternal Son of God who, in the fullness of time, took to Himself a human nature and was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life and offered Himself at the cross to make full atonement for sinners. We believe that on the third day He was raised from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for His people, until He comes again to judge the living and the dead.

We believe that salvation is a gracious gift of God from beginning to end and is obtained by God’s grace through the repenting of ones sin and placing one’s trust and faith completely in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.

We affirm the historic Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed.

The Westminster Confession of Faith provides a summary of what we believe the Bible teaches. The  Bible alone, however, is the infallible guide in all matters of faith and practice.

Our Denomination: The Orthodox Presbyterian Church

Born in 1936 out of the struggles between historic biblical Christianity and early 20th century theological liberalism, the Orthodox Presbyterian Church seeks to be faithful to the scriptures, the historic Presbyterian confessions (the Westminster Confession of Faith, and its Shorter and Larger Catechisms) and the legacy of the Protestant Reformation.
